When you come to New Horizons of Northwest Arkansas for a Mentored Learning class, you will be assigned your own server-grade workstation pre-configured for your particular class. Many of our Microsoft Official Courses also use Virtual PC, which allows you to run multiple operating systems simultaneously on one workstation. These resources ensure that your technical class will always include detailed, realistic hands-on labs, with the instructor on hand to provide guidance and assistance.

The lecture portion of your Mentored Learning class is accomplished by video. These video sessions are recorded by nationally recognized instructors, and are kept on the center's local network so that they remain crisp and clear when you view them from your workstation. The video interface also includes study guides, sample code, and progress assessments.

The major advantage of Mentored Learning to the IT professional is the flexibility of the course pacing and content. Whereas students in a traditional instructor-led class are constrained to the outline and pace set by the whole class, students in Mentored Learning can review or pause lectures, take as much or as little time as necessary to complete a lab, and focus on the material that is most relevant to their specific needs.
